Please remove this thread immediately. Not only is it badly written but it is offensive. Why does it have to be a Man?

"Man in a van" is the name of the service, poor attempt to troll.

The OP is clearly seeking ANY man in van services. Why does it have to be a man? I found it offensive, others may not. It is however, discriminatory.

Maybe the OP prefers to have a man assist them. Lots of women prefer to have women assist them instead of a man.

The name just describes the service Anthea and I presume it sticks into common parlance because it rhymes. If they said they are looking for 'a person with a large vehicle' no doubt would have to explain themselves so don't get your knickers in a twist!

Thank you Guy.
Yes "man in a van" is the name of the service I need, my wife would probably prefer a man, but I would be happy with a women. Anthea "woman in a van" turned up zero results, so I am afraid the world and google disagrees with your logic.

Gender discrimination in employment advertisements, with very few exceptions, has been illegal for decades. I'm reporting this. There isn't an excuse.

@Ami, 'man in a van' is gender discrimination? I bet at your house you make and eat 'gingerbread people' with your tea don't you? The phrase accurately describes the service that is being offered you oaf!

Actually, Guy, that is right. I call them "gingerbread people" because that is the correct name. You are either 100% for smashing misogyny or you get closed down by us. And we are in charge. We neither forgive nor forget. And we have the skills to find things out.

Amy I have to disagree, the cutter for a gingerbread man has two legs on the bottom half whilst the cutter for a gingerbread woman has a triangular skirt shape. So if it has two legs as opposed to a skirt it is, in fact a gingerbread man.
What about public toilets? Should these not have male and female signs? Should men and women be using the same lavatories? Surely that would be right in your view. I am actually a great believer in equality but you are coming across as aggressive and militant? 'Smash this, smash that, we're in charge'?

Certainly not, how ridiculous. But a gingerbread woman as well as the universally used lavatory signs for a woman are. What are you getting at?
