Malling redevelopment

Considering all the redevelopment posts on here just thought I'd chip in. I have just had a chat with a friend of mine who lives a couple of roads away - apparently they have received notification of planning proposal for Sussex Police HQ.
The gossip is that they are going to try and put a lot more parking spaces on the site - which hopefully should be good news for the residents of Malling, especially those of us in ‘new’ Malling (or overflow car park).
Does anyone know anything about this? I think I might do a search on the SDNP planning site and have a nosey.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue are moving in from Eastbourne so they need more parking

Our local councillor, the splendid Daisy Cooper, is very active on all things Sussex Police and Old Malling Farm. She has set up a number of meetings locally, all of which I've attended. She's the go to person if you want more information. Did you friend mention this?

I've had a look at this SDNP/15/04937/FUL just knocking some old buildings down, cutting down a load of trees and putting parking spaces down over the lot.

They're moving in hundreds of extra people though so I'm not sure that it will help much with the parking problem.

From the plans submitted they are planning to cut down the woodland by the garages off Queens Road, where the foxes live.

The foxes also live under my shed . Hope they can get rid of them at the same time.
Must also mention that if the police could park around old malling way at night time it would stop the boy racers being able to kill us all. The daytime parking is an excellent speed reducing measure. Hurrah for sussex police employees who park outside my house.

Having a Bentley and a multitude of BMWs parked on the estate can't have done house prices any harm!

Can't help but also comment on the proposed new houses next to old malling farm. .... they have been promising them since the the 80s. Bring it on. Family houses (yes possibly unaffordable for my kids) but they've always been on the cards.

David M - I don't know that anyone's ever promised housing there. It's been suggested, and rejected on landscape grounds, several times though.
