A coach full of American tourists screeched to a halt, when one of them spied Richard Attenborough at a petrol station. The coach door opened, and the yanks tried to attract Attenboroughs attention "Dickie, Dickie, Dickie- we loved youre Gandhi!" He continued filling the car taking no notice. Then one of them piped up "Lord Attenborough" (American pronounciation Attenboro)
On cue the old luvvie looked up and smiled in their direction!
I like the old story its been suggested the victim was anyone from Max Bygraves to Princess Anne. Max Bygraves visits an old peoples home and asks one of the old dears "Do you know who iam? Ask matron she'll tell you! replied the old girl.
