I just want to say I absolutely 100% love my life.
I am happy, my body is healthy, I have amazing children, a supportive family, I live in a lovely house and in a lovely environment, I lead an interesting & varied lifestyle, I access the great outdoors and beautiful surrounding countryside all of the time, I enjoy my job and I have lots of friends.
There is a great deal of negativity on this forum, and I want to say that some of us are actually enjoying life and are feeling positive about it.

You are very lucky to be blessed with both fortunate circumstances and a positive outlook. For those of us who, for whatever reason, have a more challenging time, the occasional rant on this forum may seem unnecessarily negative, but it's also a way of letting off steam.

I'm all too aware of that @Mum.
I know exactly how fragile life is. And that is precisely why I am so incredibly grateful on a daily basis for the good things I have in my life.
And my gratefulness leaves me flabbergasted at the level of negativity on here. When actually, life is fragile for all of us, and therefore we should be grateful for what we have got, not moan endlessly about the subjects that are moaned about on this forum.

Nobody is interested in your smug life, or mine.
Why does the news thrive on disaster headlines?
Why do newspapers sell more when disaster strikes?
Positivity doesn’t sell.

You don't lead an interesting & varied lifestyle Loretta. You either have a lifestyle or you live a life. And in what way are your children amazing? Surely children are just children. I know mine are.

@Loretta - If it was as simple as choosing to be grateful and living in the moment , there'd be no call for psychotherapists or antidepressants. If you're flabbergasted, that suggests a lack of imagination, empathy or insight into the human condition. We all have a dark side and the Lewes Forum is a harmless way for some of us to vent our spleens without doing it in real life. Of course there are people who are far worse off, we all know that, but sadly that doesn't make any difference.

Lovely sentiments from Loretta - for many of us there is a lot to be grateful for. But I must admit I’m only on the forum to appreciate the cynical, wicked or whingeing posts...

Are your 'amazing' children called Auberon and Cordelia, by any chance?

It’s great living here and too many people on the Lewes Forum seem to have forgotten that. All the moaning and whingeing becomes so dull after a while. So there’s a homelessness and drugs problem- of course there is! It’s 2018 and these problems are everywhere and have to be managed. It’s not quite the end of the world, although many voices on the Forum suggest otherwise - lighten up, ditch your prejudices and enjoy this great summer we’re having for Chrissakes!
