Looking for a large family home

Hi neighbours,
My family and I moved into short term accommodation in Lewes a year ago and I am very interested to stay in this town as part of the community. We need a spacious house and are contemplating a few options; to live alone with my two children, continue living with my ex husband and/or pair up with another parent and live as a larger extended family, the latter option being my favourite. I am a singer/writer/teacher and would like to have a study. A private let would be amazing and I am aware of all the agency lettings as they become available. We need to move in March. Has anyone got any leads for me please? Thanks in advance, Alison David

Yeah Great idea ! Just meet someone on the internet and move in with them. What can possibly go wrong with that ?

I misread this at first and thought it said ''a private jet would be amazing''. Still, shoot for the moon and grab a few stars on the way down...(sic). Good luck!

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket ....because that's more likely than finding a large house to rent in Lewes

I have a parent friend in mind and yes, I believe 'dreams come true'... feel free to google me and my song of that title.
Thanks for the positive support!

I felt sad reading your responses. Often the Lewes forum reads like a private club for old school bullies.

A long shot but why don't you have a look at the Laughton Lodge community?
Not far from Lewes but many artists, kids, countryside and communal spaces. There's a chance to rent or buy. The place will get short shrift here, but ignore the narrow-minded comments and make your own mind up.

Laughton Lodge - built as a Colony for Mental Defectives - all turned out into "the community" by Thatcher . And we all know how well that served them !

agreed cam, good luck alison!
I am not sure this is the place to ask sensible questions as you often wont find a helpful response instead you'll get abuse.
