When is the rubbish due to be collected in Cliffe? The useless website originally said that it was all as normal. Good Friday collection. I put mine out and it got torn apart by seagulls
/foxes as per usual. Collected it all and rebagged it. Put it out again this morning as per advice on website. Torn apart again. Picked up again. Other neighbours out there doing the same. It was interesting to learn about people's taste in dressing gowns. Does anyone know when they're actually going to come?

It was Thursday when they came. Although I too was expecting it to be as normal.

With all respect, are you certain of that Warden? The trucks always, always wake me up in these narrow streets and they didn't on Thursday. When they come by it's like there are Centurion tanks rolling through the bedroom. Perhaps I just slept through it for once.

We visited Rye on Monday, and were surprised to see a refuse team at work, collecting household rubbish as usual ...imagine that, a dustcart and crew operating on a Bank Holiday! Not only that, one of the crew was carefully sweeping the footway with a dustpan and brush - clearly tidying up rubbish they had dropped whilst emptying the bins...!!!!
ESCC/Lewes DC please note - why can one part of East Sussex (Rye) have it's bins collected as normal even on a Bank Holiday, yet another part of East Sussex (Lewes) suffers the regular Bank Holiday-related "Will they, Won't they come early (late)?" dilemma?
Also, why do dustcart crews in Rye take obvious pride in their work, and clear up any spillage, whereas the muppets who empty the bins in Lewes regularly leave pavements strewn with rubbish that they have spilt when treating rubbish bags/bins unnecessarily harshly in their wish to get the job done as quickly as possible?
