I'm looking for a live in companion for my active elderly mother. Can anyone recommend someone with experience or advise me where to look. The job would be mostly based in Lewes but with the odd week in London. A driver would be helpful.

Aren't there Agencies for this sort of thing ? Who vet the candidates to protect the vulnerable ? Only on the news tonight was there a court case in Hove where the carer had embezzled £ 29,000 from a 93 year old. So good luck with this form of advertising.

I think this site can help you find an agency that has been vetting

I recommend the vets in Cliffe and would love to take your Mother for walkies. I need a big sofa and warm fire but not too good at driving.

Often recommendations by someone who actually knows/or works with them can be better than an agency and I'm also around daily and able to take references. I may end up using an agency but would prefer this way.

I don't suppose a fit 62 year-old male Probation Officer looking to relocate to East Sussex meets your criteria?

the support with confidence scheme also has many PA which do live-in support , that specialise in person-centred care based purely on what the client wishes to do , rather than an agency who may impose restriction in the activities they are prepared to take on.

Thanks so much "approved" for your very helpful advice. There are so many possibilities so thanks. And "Qualified Social Worker" unfortunately not what she's looking for but thanks for your reply.

The nice variant is a coffee table with the transparent table top and additional niche under it where it is possible to place a bunch of flowers, fruits, sea shells, stones or potpourri.
