Did the event ever get off the ground or was it just a waste of forum space?

Tusk Tusk, not the same person who was going to open a night club in Lewes for 500 people, but couldn't say where?

Well I was up at the Burough sight (brilliant) and we all had the advantage of seeing all of the displays but I never saw any lights coming from the vicinity of Baxter's Field. So I guess it was just a wind up!

Well lets look to the future, the Cliffe tab was" I AM SORRY " and the lazer shight show was very good. Cliffe chairman said "who needs fireworks?".

I suppose it might have been my fault all along.
You see - I always got the names Stanley Turner ( where of course we did have our site ) and Stanley Baxter confused.
Now if only I'd remembered that one of them was a cross-dressing comedian of questionable humour....but which one was it?

I once stayed in a B&B in Oban where the landlady looked incredibly like Stanley Baxter (but no light show).
Maybe a celebrity could turn on the 2008 light show?

Yes, it did go ahead thank you. We had to hold it on Saturday, due to the over-commitment of the emergency services on Monday, but have been assured that if we get the paperwork in earlier next year, we can do it on the 5th.
We had about 120 friends & family in attendance, and Toby & his chums put on an incredible sound & light spectacular. It also meant we were able to go to Covent Garden on Monday night & escape the chaos caused by the "druvvers". By the time the last train pulled in, they had all gone back to their sheltered accommodation - or the cells!!

Well I enjoyed it Oliver, except it was a bit cold and frosty. I am looking forward to next year.

It was an interesting and alternative experience although, like Catwoman, I found it a bit nippy too!

A friend of mine in St Reatham saw an article about this in one of her local papers........how come our own weekly Viz (Sussex Express) did not cover it?

Because Oliver probably does not frequent the Brewers Arms

Awww I feel I've missed out now, would have liked to have seen it (not instead of the bonfire of course) but as well as on a different night then yes.

A different night would be appropriate - we would not want to detract from or carnivalise Bonfire.

Oliver,
Why don't you perform your light show at an appropriate time of the year - Yule for example?
