Lewes stoolball league wants new players and teams

The Lewes stoolball league will be starting in mid-May, and is looking for teams to take part. You need 8 people for a team, including at least two females. Matches are all played at Mountfield Road in Lewes on a Thursday evening and start at either 5.15pm or 6.30pm. Matches typically last about 90 minutes before the teams retire to the pub for a well-earned drink and something to eat.
Matches will not necessarily be every week but are likely to be most Thursdays during the height of the summer.  The number of matches will depend on the number of teams that enter and your success in any knockout competitions.  The standard is friendly/competitive rather than serious. There is a small fee of approximately 80p per person per match.
The league is organised by East Sussex County Council, but friends, partners and teams from outside are more than welcome to come and join in.  Please get together in work teams or as groups of friends or family and let Simon Hall know  your amusing team name by 4 May.  The first matches will be on 17 May.
If any individuals wish to be put in contact with teams please contact Simon Hall and he will forward your details to a team captain.
Contact Simon Hall on 01273 482781 or 07876 037580 or at simon.hall@eastsussex.gov.uk

That's all you need to do. The league's very informal, so no need for clubs, constitutions etc. If you can get 8 people to the Convent field for 5.15 or 6.30 every Thurs, and get 80p each in subs, you have a team. Equipment is provided, and other teams will be happy to show you the ropes. It'd be great to see you there.
