Lewes station cycle pod - far from secure

A warning to anyone who reads the Southern Rail website and sees that they provide a secure cycle pod. It is far from secure, as I found out this week when thieves gained entry to it, used bolt cutters to cut the gold standard D-lock on my bike, and stole it, along with another bike which had a Kryptonite lock on it. This has been reported to British Transport police, with no response from them yet. Instead of their slogan “Enjoy free, secure bike storage in our new cycle hubs with our Key Smartcard” it should read “Don’t leave your bike here – organised gangs will steal them”

Was it nicked during the daytime?
One reason I don't think I can justify a posh e bike is because I'm bound to get it nicked whereas my cheap hub motor kit doesn't seem to attract thieves as it looks a bit shabby.

David I think you are spot on. With hindsight I should never have left it there.
