Just had to pour my tea out of the door at Plumpton station. Far too strong, and luke warm.
And I didn't really want tea, I only ordered it because the coffee I had last time was undrinkable too.
I'm all for small and independent, and I signed their petition a few years back, but come on guys. Sort it out.
And I know, first world problems etc. But this is the national drink we are talking about

Did you say anything to them directly?

I've only ever had good coffee from them. But if you are unhappy, tell them, not the whole Forum.

Have to say that's never been my experience. I've only had the tea once mind but it was top notch - usually partake of their filter coffee, also much better and cheaper than the equivalents from the usual suspects on the high street. You must be very unlucky!

Let's hope it turns into a Costa as soon as possible.

I've started using a thermos flask for my coffee. One of those old fashioned ones from the 70s with a plastic cup. I certainly notice lots of envious glances from my fellow travellers!

Sounds like an unfortunate one off.
I usually have coffee from there as it's pretty good, and my tea drinking travelling companion.seems happy enough too.
Perhaps they were just having a bad day (or you were).

I was joking! Good to see so many thumbs down though. I rather like the place.

Will always say they are a proper community service who care about what they do and would not want to hear that someone was dissatisfied. If not happy let them know at the time, they will sort it. We need more of good service across Lewes shops etc.....

Well, don't use it often but missed breakfast today to catch the 8.20(ish) London train. We had 2 sandwiches, a strong (extra shot) double espresso & a similar Americano. As these thing go it was good, not just okay, but given where we were & circumstances it was .... what are you after ? The 2 staff were pleasant & it all arrived hot and strong. It's not a top notch coffee emporium in some specialist coffee shop. Get real.

I think its pretty decent and convenient, with very reasonable pricing and pleasant staff. They even have an alcohol license for the junkies among us to oil oneself up before heading on a night out in London.
If they make a dud coffee/tea, just feed it back to them next time. I'm pretty sure its quite rectifiable, and not justification for closure and replacement with a mega coffee chain (who aren't likely to offer the booze option either!).

It feels a bit dated. But it's ok overall.
I'm annoyed they don't take cards though. I mean, who doesn't these days??

In response to Observer saying the café feels a bit dated, I think it is meant to be like that to distinguish itself from the chains. They do take cards, I was pleased myself to discover that the other day. Happy Easter to all.
