Just wanted to know about local childcare nurseries for babies under two in central Lewes. Google is being difficult with hugely out of date and incorrect information. Some claim to be in central Lewes but are actually in Isfield for example! So far I've come up with the Montessori, Busy Bees, YMAC (apparently formerly known as Jigsaw) and stepping stones. Anyone know of any others I can investigate? Completely disinterested in opinions about nursery vs childminder vs mother childcare choices btw so please don't bother! Helpful advice would be hugely appreciated!

I had the same problem! My little boy goes to stepping stones since 18 months now 2 and a half :-) and he loves it, there are a couple of pretty small babies there but not sure what age they actually start from. For lewes that's all I found for nurseries too as most of the others are over 2 years. Hope that helps

Have you asked LDC or ESCC - they usually have lists of all approved child care providers.

The Children's Centre might be a place to enquire.

Grandchild has been at Busy Bees since 11 months old and now 2 1/2. The most expensive and a franchise, but seems well run, children happy, food cooked on premises. Small outdoor spaces, but adequate. Rooms small but well equipped. All the nurseries in Lewes seem to be Ok so think you need to visit yourself and see how you feel about them.

We checked out al the main ones when we were looking for a nursery for #1 (then 10months). THey all have their strengths but we thought Busy Bees were best for the littlest ones with dedicated baby room. (and yes, think you've identified them all)

Oh, and you've missed Old School House (de Montfort Road). I _think_ Southover nursery is for over threes , and similar for the nursery attached to Wallands School,
