Couple of weeks ago ordered a meal for 4 from the Lewes Spice, our favoured curry in town. A full hour and a half later it turned up; it was the wrong meal.
We rang, asked them to send the right meal, while we ate four burnt onion bhajis.
The second delivery turned up, this guy gave us half the money back, but there was no sign of the food we ordered. We rang again.
So now it's two and a half hours after we originally ordered, the second half of the meal comes, and it's still the wrong order. Phoned again, the manager said sorry and promised a free meal next time we ordered.
Guess what, we tried to place an order tonight, mentioned what happened, and the guy denied ever saying anything about a free meal.
So now we are hungry, though possibly more healthy, and all our Lewes Spice menus are in the bin. Not great customer service.

Yer I've had a similar problem with Lewes Spice and also Friday I ordered a meal from Shanaz which I think is a rip off.
I asked for a Prawn Masala (£12) the prawns were not King Prawn they were tiny normal prawns 12!!! it didnt even taste that good either.
Its a waste of time and money going there.
So Merlinspot I disagree, Shanaz is a total rip off, I've always thought that.
Time to shop around!

I totally disagree about the Shanaz, the food I have had from there has always been superb and the service is excellent.

Can't comment on Lewes spice but i've always had good food and service from the Shanaz.
What's people's opinions on Spice Merchants ? i've had nothing but absolute top notch food from there since day 1. My only problem is that it's always busy when i fancy an "on the spur of the moment" curry and have to wait for a table.

I think Spice Merchant is ace. Apart from the odd eat in we've probably had a takeout from there about once a fortnight since it opened and every time it's been faultless.
What about Chaula's? I quite like the food but it's all at exactly the same level on the heat front. Not much variety and not much the kids will eat.
