Pubs have been an essential part of Lewes life for centuries.
Many have disappeared over the last hundred years.
A few have gone over the last decade or two.
Hopefully those left, can come through the pandemic in one piece.
Is having 'a great pub' or 'local' even called for, or wanted?
I loved the pubs I grew up in, worked for, met best friends, rivals, old characters and long-lost partners.
Top days like no other.
