Every year everyone gets a little older, but the music stays the same. When the Daft Punk comes on, I know that we're getting near the Dad-rock compilation. Oh no, hang on, the Pharrell Williams is new.

11.20 - We're now on 'Loveshack'. It's a lot louder this year. Too loud. I can put up with a bit of noise once a year, but this is stopping my kids from sleeping. If anyone involved with it reads this, please show a little more consideration next year. You always managed to have good parties in the past without deafening the whole neighbourhood.

It was a really nice party, but very sorry to hear it kept your kids up. We'll be sure to do more to limit the noise levels in future...

I live on Valence and wasn't disturbed by the noise at all (neither were my kids) I hope you all had a lovely night.

I live in Valence Road too. It sounded like great fun was had by all and the music, although loud and not to my taste, finished a lot sooner than some of the parties that have been going on in private houses till silly o' clock over towards Nevill recently. It's only once or twice a year, it's all very good natured and shows a great deal of community spirit. Long may it continue.

@Apologetic Party People - Thanks for your response. I've no problem with the party itself and am normally glad to hear everyone enjoying themselves, even when it's the Dadrock compilation My only issue was the volume - did you have new speakers or were they in a different place this time, as they seemed to be much nearer than usual.
All I'm asking is that you can stick to the formula you've had in all the other years, as that seemed to get the balance (and volume) just right. Wishing you all the best for the next one.

It was fine. Rather nice, in fact.

What a great party - even better this year and so well organised! It's so good to have something that makes people smile and enjoy in these times when so much else is going on that is not so good - long may it continue!

Doesn't everyone in Leicester Road get an invite ? Or can anyone attend?

It's absolutely open to all Leicester Road residents, of course- and their guests, by invitation.
So food is mostly people from the street and cosy, and the party afterwards is more open and festive (and consequentially, a bit louder...!)
