Went in the other day - Jesus! Since when did coffee and cakes get so expensive?! You would think if the restaurant was bought for you then you could afford to not be so extortionate on prices.

It's trying to compete with Bills. Soon it'll just be the yummy mummys and super rich tourists who'll go in there.
No wonder this town can't attract new business

Camel Toe do Aldi customers have debit/credit cards or just food stamps ? 1st and last time we went, it was no to all plastic cards, full stop !! One can't do a proper shop without judging exactly how much cash one needs. Has this changed. PS Not keen on the 'bagging area' either !! So its a no no for us.

Aldi take debit cards but not credit cards: as far as I know that's the way it's always been.

Given the problems with Saltdean Lido, does anyone else think it's just a coincidence that Lewes District Council is an anagram of 'eclectic lido wins rust'? I don't believe in coincidences.

Aldi take debit cards, so you can pay immediately and not rely on credit. The bagging area means that the previous customer clears the till quickly and does not hold you up. The deposit on the trolley means it is less likely to end up in the river. Cheap efficient shopping all round.
If you want to faff about, go to Tesco; or waitrose to pay more.

The Old Mayoress and I ventured on to Asda recently. WOW what a store that is ! We didn't even know there was so much choice, just how many flavours and variety does one need? All the shelves were so high, packed with every imaginable item you ever might need, in every size, colour, flavour and pack. The store is huge. We had a field day, even the the choice of pet foods outweigh anything obtainable in Lewes. even our pussies were treated !! We were like children in Hamleys at Christmas !!

QUOTE OF THE MOMENT
I like The Grange Gardens, and the way the teashop has the most odd mixture of china from the charity shops
