Am drowning under weight of laundry that needs doing in our house and wondered if anyone knew of a laundry service in Lewes that doesn't cost a fortune. I guess what I'm looking for is someone to collect the clothes, wash and dry them, fold them then return them to me whereupon I shall fall upon my knees in gratitude (plus pay them of course!). Thanks for any (sensible) suggestions....

I have been using Iron Works for the last two years to do my sheets etc. Simon is diligent and incredibly careful - in 20 months I don't think I've had a single item go astray, and have only temporarily acquired two items myself! He'll come to your door, take away piles of dirty stuff and return it sparkling clean and smelling sweet. Extremely highly recommended.

Oooh look: another fan!

I should have left a phone number - 01273 488 448. They're local - just down the road in Iford. And yes, they're pretty damn wonderful. (Simon: I shall expect a discount on my next load...!)

Thanks so much for taking time to respond to my plaintive cry. If Simon is as good as you say I may end up marrying him! (only joking in case husband every reads this and in case Simon fears a potential stalker!). Thanks again.

Sadly the laundrette in Ringmer is no more. But we do have Dominos Pizza. Even village life moves on.
