Good morning,
Please could someone kindly explain to me how to get to Landport bottom?
I'm hoping to take my young grandson to the nevill juvenile parade in October, but I haven't been before and don't know where to go.
I'd like to know a street name that leads to this area, so that I can look at a map.
I know Lewes town centre, but I'm not familiar with any areas on the outskirts.
I'm coming from Uckfield.
Many thanks in advance.
Mary.

It's the big field on top of the hill on the right as you come down the Nevill Road from Cooksbridge. The Motor Road up to the old race course takes you to it. It's a hill, not a bottom!

Hi Granny. I’m assuming you are a genuine poster (we get a lot of trolls on this forum).
Landport Bottom is part of the Downs adjacent to the Nevill Estate in Lewes. As a previous poster said, it is on the road from Cooksbridge to Lewes, so if coming from Uckfield and you are unsure of driving through Lewes, you could come via Chailey and Cooksbridge - not sure where you park though?
Landport Bottom is where the Bonfire and Fireworks are. There is also a procession which I think takes place on a number of roads in Nevill Estate prior to the bonfire.
I am not a member of any Bonfire Society, hence my sketchy details, however, Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society have a website and may have contact details for someone to ask.

Thank you ever so much Bob.
That's helpful.
I want to be able to give my little grandson a lovely time, so I want to be prepared in advance with regards to where I'm going.
I do know Lewes centre but not the residential areas.
If we turn up to Landport bottom (or hill), I presume it will be obvious where to find the parade.
Many thanks.

The procession meets up on Christie Road and goes round the estate with some set pieces on the green

You have to buy a ticket to enter the fireworks and bonfire site
