Hi all, are there any descendants of the Lally family (Daniel Henry) living in the area ? Daniel & family lived in Lewes from late 1890's, one of his daughters, Josephine (Janey) married Frederick Dunk, they are buried in Lewes cemetery & I believe that Daniel Lally (died 1908) & his father, Thomas (born St. Helena, died Lewes 1914) are also buried there, but I don't know where their graves are. Can any one assist on this info?
Can anyone scan a newspaper for me, please ? There is acopy on BN Archive but the scan is very poor due to the way it was scanned. I would like to see a decent scan of page 7 of The Sussex Express & Co Herald dated Oct 20th 1939 which has an article on my 1st cousin 1 removed (Walter Dunk), under the heading " East Sussex Men in The Royal Oak Disaster".
Many thanks for taking the time to read this plea, any assistance would be much appreciated. Matt

I've heard of the name Dunk in Sussex but never a Lally. The county record office will have details of grave plots, I'm sure. Good Luck.

There are no "Lally's" in Lewes now but quite a few in the surrounding area. Search for Lally in Sussex here.....
