What’s going on with the King’s Head?? Has it closed down?

Still wondering what is the truth about The King’s Head. Which pub co. owns it? Could be a good pub but The Foragers baled after less than 2 years presumably because they were not making any profit and the last landlord couldn’t have made any money - it was always empty.

It's owned by Enterprise Inns. They are awful and clueless

Thanks Pubcos. Thought it might be. Presumably they will just get another manager who will probably fail unless they really have a good idea of how to market it successfully and/or do some really good food.

Both the Lansdown & Elly are also Enterprise Inns - nothing wrong with either of those!

You’re right of course Theresa’s Phillip. So it will be down to having a Landlord who can make a go of it as it always is regardless of who owns the pub. Someone ought to be able to make a go of it by concentrating on food and wedding receptions, being so close to the Grange.

Funny you should say that, we’d approached them to hire the place in August for our wedding at the end of last year, they weren’t overly keen and said we couldn’t have it exclusively as when they’d done that in the past “a number” of the locals ignored what was going on and assume their usual positions at the bar. Not the end of the world for us to be honest, there more the merrier.
We were supposed to speak to them this month to see what can be arranged, it seems our plans are in tatters!

It largely depends on who those number of locals were. The kind to ignore what was going on and assume their usual position regardless are exactly the people why I stopped going to the KH.

If they put the pool table in I’d be in there a lot more.

I know someone who has booked a wedding party there. Don’t like to tell them it’s closed and presumably when it re-opens they will honour future bookings. Here’s hoping. Here’s hoping it will be better run when it re-opens.

I'm not surprised it's closed. The landlord and his dopey sidekick seem to spend their whole lives boring anyone who has the misfortune to be in their vicinity at the Gardeners Arms.

I have my wedding reception booked there for September, no ones called to say they were closing.

Been informed today progress has been made at Kings Head thanks to recent bar manager who has worked with the brewery to close out previous holding company so that pub will soon be available to a new lease, albeit a pubco one. There has been significant local interest.
