Not too sure about Rapids round here Eproht.
Dont get caught up near Barcombe Mills though.
Was pretty good through the small fork a mile north of wileys bridge (that meets up just past the wier) coming back from Barcombe when the tide was running quickly out, although I think that might be a private stretch too?!

The river just in front of the Anchor at Barcombe is said to be very challenging water to paddle.

Best to go with other people for safety

There is no white water in sussex. The river up to barcombe mills is all tidal so is public highway. It can get fast(ish) at southover bridge when the tide is going out but i wouldn't get too excited by it

Ha ha ha, white water in Sussex rivers? No chance mate. It's all mud and no flow here (unless you wait for the floods/spates, when kayaking can become very interesting.. and possibly deadly). Otherwise try the shore break at Brighton.

White water kayaking? this is sussex, try seaford beach in a force 6+ blow at low tide, pagham harbour on the ebb tide, wheeeeeeeeeeeee, even the cuckmere river mouth on the the ebb can be exciting. River mouth at littlehampton on the ebb is very quick, river ouse is too slow.
