This has got to be a windup, firstly they have to apply for planning permission before it gets approved and nobody has seen that, second it is on a flood plane, thirdly this is a national park now so not down to the council surely???

I had a Kentucky fried Chicken "meal" once; when my wife was in hospital and she sugessted I get my own dinner between leaving work and visiting her early evening. Following that experience in 1979 I have never had another KFC.
We do not want to encourage junk food into our town; especially at the expense of a bonfire site.

Just been confirmed on the inside, apparently there defo was planning application notices put up at wiley bridge, car park at malling rec and on gate to entrance to playing fields by roundabout.
cant say i saw them but just been confirmed building due to start late 13 or very early 14 and the reason its been approved is KFC are donating to the heating and covering of the pells swimming pool but that obviously wasnt made public knowledge.
Think the idea sucks tbh and cant believe its been approved but as they say money talks.

Col. Sanders is correct. Sorry to spoil all the fun with some facts. I've just spoken to KFC's press office. They say no planning application has been submitted for anywhere in Lewes and they have no plans to submit one in the future. As a fully paid-up DFL, anyway, I'm happy to stick to Chaula's with a side-order of Flintowl bread...

I think Lewes needs to stop being so snooty... Even poor Domino's had to base itself in Ringmer, even though it caters for the naughty townsfolk of Lewes...
the next stop will be an influx of Nando's and Wagamama's. infinitely better than snooty Chaula's curry.

I have no recollection of any planning applications coming up at Town Council for KFC since I have been on the committee (nearly a year).
It MAY have come up at one of the three meetings that I wasn't able to attend, but I do read the applications that we are sent, attached to our agendas, before the meeting and have no recollection of anything like this coming before us.
