I am currently an underemployed housewife and don't have a lot else to do and that's why I spend time on this site.
What's your excuse? Are you guys all working and posting at your desks, are you retired, unemployed or whatever.
I hope that this isn't too personal for a forum but I've never posted to one before and I'm curious.

Homesick - Join a class; do some volunteer work; go to church. These are all ways of meeting people. Why not get a part time job which involves interaction with others? Good luck!

When I said underemployed I meant exactly that - I do volunteer work already. Two types of volunteer work actually.
I currently have a very sick dog, which has meant that I'm at home looking after her rather than out doing my work. Thus I'm on the internet.
I already have friends who are occupied during the day.
It was just an idle question as I was curious about what made people use this sort of site - now hopefully you have a better understanding about why I'm using it, why aren't you off doing some volunteer work yourself. Perhaps you could find some unemployed people to patronise.
BTW I would rather boil my own head than go to church.

I work (with computers) full time. I often read to this forum from my phone whilst in one of the interminable traffic jams on my way to or from Brighton (as I am now). It alleviates the boredom a little.

I just think it's a bit of a laugh, Homesick. I go to work, so only tend to post in the evenings or early morning.
Hope your dog gets well soon.

This forum is a useful place for finding out about things such as what caused noise at 2am, any strange events in town, gossip; and there are helpful people that do answer questions posted on it. It's also good for a laugh with some of the threads that are funny, clever or just plain crazy!
