Most people on an annual salary get paid for eight bank holidays; and also about three or four weeks' annual holiday.
The self-employed do not. No holiday pay-or "sick leave".
But I have been working today, and will bill my client and collect my hourly rate for the hours that I have worked.

Clifford, what tax concessions are those then? we are damn near on the same level as an employed person these days, just without the holidays, free uniform, tools, Co car, sick pay, maternity pay, pension cont, and for some lucky employees even free bupa!!. and thats before quoting for the job and having the client want it done for virtually cost price.

grafter, I complete a self-assessment and know exactly what a self-employed person can and can't claim for. If you don't, perhaps you should invest a little time with an accountant.
