I believe that football is a microcism of life and I love it.
You have passion,drama,joy,despair,love and hate.
Regretably you also have violence, corruption and the big money repressing the poor.
But on some glorious days things go right and the meek do inherit the earth (for a short time at least)
The chattering classes may look down on it,People will tell you that it no longer connects to the common man.
But I still love it!!!

Football is NOT a microcism of life, thankfully. If it were then we would be in real trouble.
All sport should be semi-professional or amateur, like rugger used to be - just look at the charade called the Olympics. Now teams have ridiculous names and cricketers wear baseball caps.
TV and radio only report football and forget that there are many more other sports being played.

Good. That is way it should be. Local sport with local people. What has Chelsea got to do with Chelsea with these days?? Apart from a stadium?

the reason that tv and radio cover more football than anything else is because it is the sport most people are interested in. It is not the only thing 5 live for example covers on a saturday afternoon however and anyone who listens to it regularly enough will know this. As for cricketers wearing baseball caps how does that affect the game in any way? I should think that as cricket is going through a resergence in this country at the moment you as a fan of cricket should be thankful of anything that can be seen as even the remotest cause of this. When in the last 50 years have proffesional teams ever ben made up of the locals? never. if paex enjoys football then good for him. The rest of you shut up
