Perhaps you don't know everyone in the vicinity? But whatever the reason, that's quite an anal post...

I think that applies more to your response local.

I don’t think anyone will own up to panic buying , to be honest I think the likes of Tesco have caused this problem a little after all they did let people have 5 of every item to start with.
I know how the retail trade works as I’ve had plenty of experience it only takes a few people to take five items and the stock will me massively depleted on a lot of lines and ordering is done when item is scanned at checkouts but it can be manually changed to but shops only get so many deliveries a day as well.
I understand they didn’t know how bad things where to escalate so quickly but surely common sense must prevail now a limit of 1 item on all important products.
It’s also great they are opening for the elderly and NHS staff but not at the same time and it should be when shop opens for them not at 9am when the shop will be half empty after the panic buyers have had there way.

Apparently there is £1bn of uneaten food sitting in people’s homes at the moment.

Tesco" prioritise" the elderly between 9 and 10 Mon,Wed, Fri. I can't say I noticed it on Friday when I was there. I also noticed that the things I wanted had already sold out, so what's the point.

I've been panic buying for years. It's only me panicking though usually. Memetics is worth studying though.
My best friend lived in a cabin he built himself in the woods in Tennessee. He had guns, years of food stored but unfortunately drowned in the sea off Crete. He would have enjoyed this panic though.

Tom Pain agree with you about the hours for the elderly it should be when the shop opens, some places have done this one supermarket only doing one day a week for them and Sainsbury’s letting NHS staff have 30 minutes big deal what’s the point.
The elderly should have priority and it should be the first hour of trading across the board in all shops everyday.
