organised festival. Im a bit of a Festival junkie both big & small & LL ticked many boxes. The weather was atrocious but that can be changed by no-one, not even Theresa, Vladimir nor Donald! And LL, especially yesterday evening got through it. Dreadzone were awesome (as they always are) and the 3 preceding bands were good too. If the morning weather had lasted, we'd all be saying how awesome it all was.
Essentially I hope that this weekend rain does not stop the organisers putting it on again, and with the same ambition they had this time: This was a huge step up in band quality overall to previous years, and must be maintained.
Well done overall.

I think it's amazing getting such class acts as Larry Love and Dreadzone to pitch up to a small beer swilling festival... These people have played in front of vast audiences.
A well spread choice of acts who all showed their professional skills while not moaning about the underpopulated daytime arena in front of them.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I could never stand Queen - overrated and overplayed anthems for those with a short attention span and little knowledge of music.

Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest, his voice was stunning compared to today's cr@ppy male artists.

Bringing weed into the conversation again eh?? Its been noted that you started it on this thread

Anyway, I've found Queens music to be bland and uninspiring tosh long before I started vaping cannabis. Music is subjective, so we all have the right to our opinions, and although I'm no music expert, I am a music fan, and would say that Led Zeppelin are an infinitely superior band both in the studio and live to my ears, and I would say the same could apply to dozens upon dozens of other artists (both past and present). Queen IMO are overrated, and your link demonstrates the tedious samey, stadium-anthem music that I find so monotonous.

The only "good" thing about Queen is that seemingly everyone knows the lyrics of their core overplayed set, so you can join in with the overly simplistic happy-clappy zombie lyrics. This doesn't make these songs great though....as I don't tend to listen to "Happy Birthday" or "God Save The Queen" (the national anthem that is!) on spotify and sing along to them with passion, either. To be fair, Brian May seems like a good bloke though.

Hardly Queen???? WTF did you expect to see at Lewes Live? It cost £45 for 14 bands, in a smallish field in Lewes with a limited number of tickets. Perhaps you expected Pink Floyd to reform and perform the full stage show of The Wall? Or maybe some as yet unknown medical procedure could have been used to re-incarnate Prince and David Bowie to perform a special set just for you? It's a small festival on a limited budget. People enjoy it for what it is, not for some totally unrealistic expectation of seeing a line up of big name bands. Unless of course, you are special kind of stupid! Nobody expects the London Philharmonic to turn up and play at Proms in the Paddock do they?

We'vehadourfun - Awesome comment.
'Why do people in America say "cool" and "awesome" all the time?'
'It’s called a “canned response” or a word or phrase that is basically a placeholder in a conversation that moves things along without actually adding anything of meaning. Americans tend to use them a lot (ex. Fine, cool, yeah, okay etc.).'
