It is, because we are going to get 40 new hospitals, 30,000 more nurses, 20,000 more police officers and £7bn more for education. Yay.

Good morning all.
The markets have taken the news well. Sterling is up, share prices are up.
These are great indicators and a sign of things to come. We really needed a confidence boost and this morning's news was it.
Try and be a bit more optimistic.
Webbo - how's this for a new forum strapline?
"The people spoke. True liberal democracy is finally here."
People saw through Oli's lies. He stood on an undemocratic manifesto full of lies and fear. Equating himself to BoJo was a huge mistake.
Well done Maria. You are a great MP and the best candidate won.

One very pertinent observation made this morning - “the noise on social media has little resemblance to the real world.”

In his loser speech Oli Henman criticised, "a rise in populism and a rise in anti-democratic force in this country"...
Oh the irony.
The man who sent out leaflets with bullet point one saying "stop brexit".
Now that Jo Swinson has resigned perhaps they can get someone who doesn't ride the wave of "undemocratic populism" and come up with some real democratic policies.
Until they do they will forever remain the "oxy morons". An extreme illiberal movement who will criticise people instead of policies.
I wish Oli well and hope he fairs better in the next constituency he moves on to fight. Unfortunately it wasn't 3rd time lucky for him in Lewes. Cheerio.

On a point of information: the majority of voters yesterday voted for parties that wanted to stop Brexit or hold a people's vote. There is, therefore, no popular mandate for Brexit. It will happen no doubt, but please can we not have any cant about democracy?

The safe labour seat of NW Durham turned Blue last night. The same Durham that was decimated as a result of the Pit Closure programme. Many of those who voted would have been working class from mining families.
What does that that tell you?

Great quote just now when challenged on continuing Labour’s move to the left - “our policies were popular, its just that the wider population hadn’t appreciated this”

It tells me that the turkeys have voted for Christmas. Now the campaign's over, is Boris going to care about them? He's got what he needed and now he can do whatever he wants.

Wish I was younger so I could leave you all to it. Boris represents everything I hate, and I guess by extension the UK now does too. I could have dealt with a small majority or a hung parliament, because Corbyn was so bad, but this is an active endorsement of lies and small minded nationalism
