Found myself bottom of the town today on my lunch break and bought my lunch time sandwich from Forfars for a change. Completely restored my confidence in shop bought sarnies. Went for a BLT, the bacon was plentiful and full of flavour, lovely seeded bread, plenty of lettuce and tomato. You could just tell it was put together by someone who wasn't trying to squeeze every last pence out of the customer. Puts a BLT over the road at Waitrose to shame really, and 30p cheaper! And before anyone starts, no I'm not affiliated with Forfars at all, just someone who enjoys a decent BLT, worth a try if you are too!

I must admit, I have also been impressed with a Forfars roll. The other day I purchased a chicken and sweetcorn roll. It was so full of filling that it all went down me and made me look like I had been gargling man juice. This wasn't a good look.

My favourite in the Cliffe is the Gardeners' Arms, where you can still get a pie (a quality one from Richards') and a pint for less than a fiver. The only downside is that they only have a token amount delivered; and therefore availability is not guaranteed.

The number of people in there on the 4th in Southover, South Street, Commercial, Waterloo and even Borough colours last and in fact every year would suggest otherwise.
