Can anyone recommend a handyman / builder who could replace old cast iron guttering? The wind has just brought a section down which was a helluva shock!

Do you really need a handyman ? I would call on a local glazing firm who would be up on the regs / planning issues ? Clarks Glass Ringmer and Castle glazing On Malling Brooks.

Intriguing. Assuming that the gutter, being cast iron, broke on impact with the ground and by replacing you mean the supply of a new section of guttering, how will a glazing firm deal with that? I am not being facetious, I am, as said, intrigued.

Any builder worth his salt should be able to source and fit new gutter. Listed building might need like for like, otherwise consider plastic - they do some that looks like cast.

It's not unusual jrsussex. Glazing firms seem to have diversified into guttering, fascias, cladding, soffits and bargeboards. Everest and the like are always on my case to replace those items on my house. I wont entertain their crazy prices though.

Yes Sam I do need a handyman - I don't like heights! JR spot on it broke into three bits and took a chunk out of the pavement!
