one wonders about the point of building the tunnel in the first place - it seems to have been shut every night for the last 18 months - one wonders too as to what the actual cost is to the local taxpayer?

Does anyone happen to know if the roadworks down by the Elly will be finished before they close the High Street to westbound traffic? If not, I reckon today's gridlock will be nothing compared to the evening rush hour when that starts.
I'd like to know where the buses will be diverted to, too. A lady told me today that they won't go throught Southover because of the humps.

Spongebob, They will be closing the high street off i think from the post office area up to the bottleneck in the next couple of weeks. The buses u see at weekends from the station that go along southover high street are rail replacements .

Big buses won't be able to through Southover, apparently, as they exceed the weight limit for the railway bridge at the station. The rail replacement ones go back through Southover, and don't cross the bridge.
