Noone seems to be talking about the Green's success in Lewes. I thought Alfie Stirling ran a great campaign, treated voters with respect and presented a positive alternative that addressed feelings of disillusionment with our main parties and an unfair economic system. He didn't resort to the politics of fear, hate and deceit that UKIP thrive on. I think Greens will win a lot of seats in the next local Lewes elections, I will certainly vote for them again.

Nah they are not a 'big state' party, they are left wing but they talk about local business and devolution

Not quite accurate. Although their vote went up in part of Lewes town itself (Castle and Priory district wards), in all other county divisions within the Lewes constituency, their vote share fell. This includes the other part of Lewes Town - eg the Lewes Bridge and Ringmer division, where their vote share fell from 10.8% in 2009 to 8.7% on May 2nd. Interesting that they haven't been able to capitalise on the wider anti-politics mood.
