Anyone know, who has bought the Goringes Garden Street site? More housing/flats? Hope there will be enough people to buy or rent all The flats and houses popping up all over Lewes ..... lots still seem to be for sale in all the Estate Agents. Buy to let is nothing like a licence to print money anymore. Where will the buyers come from?

I think you’re trying to talk the market down
Yes buy to let is dead unless you’re a cash buyer but Lewes will always be a desirable place to live so maybe the flats are a little over priced. Everything sells at the right price
Wait until Old Malling Farm is up and built, really give you something to winge about

Lewes is not a desirable place to live!!!! It’s a dump full of idiots and s**t shops. It’s alright if you want an over priced coffee or a second hand pair of trousers

No Huh! I am worried about all the stuff in the Agents Windows not selling. Bad for Lewes. Just wondering what goes onto the Goringes site. It will be quite a big one. ? Another’s Tanners Brook?

Another Tanners Brook would be great. They’re nice little houses and popular with buyers and renters. Of course it would be great if young families could buy locally but those days are past and until the buy to letters lose incentives, or until Londoners decide to move elsewhere that’s the way it’s going to be. I miss the Lewes of the 1990’s and early 2000’s but everywhere is changing...

Lewes is a fabulous to live with and admiral community spirit, think you’ll find everywhere is a bit flat at the moment, brexit, interest rate rise looming, etc etc

no chance of another Tanners Brook, there's awkward vehicle access, a need to protect the privacy of the existing and proposed homes from overlooking, a buffer area from the railway owned land...at best they may get 4 bungalows. Lets not forget how services will access and turn around - emergency/refuse/recycling. A challenging site IMHO.
