Wishing all societies, members and viewing public a safe, happy and successful bonfire night.
Not forgetting the Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Services etc. Also all the bonfire boyes who work so hard to make this night work and the LDC Street Clearing crews for their early start tomorrow.
I sincerely hope I've mised nobody out!
ENJOY in good spirit.

I really hope the police take time tonight to ensure the viewing public are not creating disorder through drunken behaviour. Last year the amount of drunken students on the streets was a disgrace and St John's ambulance told me that most of the injuries on the night were because of drunken idiots falling over/ being sick etc. It would be interesting to know the stats on firework/rookie related injuries and drunken injuries sustained each year.
By the way - the LDC street cleaning crews will have little to do as the societies spend much of the night clearing up.
