Does anyone know of any true ghost stories from Lewes. Or even experienced a ghostly encounter in the town ?

At Priory school - there was a girl in our class who was a punk and skinny with a skull like face - she was always cadging ciggies and tanners off us . At the time there was a programme on the TV that had a face turning left and right then a hand came up and the face became a skull ! Me and mates used to joke about her and parody the TV image. Seeing "Jac Naylor" on Holby reminded me. She'd be 60 now OMG

There was a woman who appeared in Anne of Cleves a lot with a hat on but once she had gone, everyone disagreed about her appearance and she had gone into the next room and vanished. The racecourse has the sounds of battle quite often, especially if you lay in the grass quietly at Sunset. The cigarette machine in the Pelham Arms used to get all the cigarette packets stacked in a pyramid inside by the poltergeist, drove everyone mad. Especially the smokers. Most recent and prolific sightings are the vicarage at the County Hall, the vicars sister appears in the window like a white bobbing balloon, thats quite frequent I believe. I saw her about four years ago
