I think that most normal Lewes people couldn't give a stuff about Mumford and sons . Saying that I hope that it all goes well and everyone enjoys the music and the unique festival that will unfold before us.i for one will carry on life as normal

I expect that quite a lot of 'normal Lewes people' (whoever they are!) will be attending the gig.

Not attending but hoping it goes well. Staying firmly put and hoping to soak up the atmosphere although I suspect I may be a little upset at seeing my beloved Malling Field used as a car park. I work from home and will continue to do so that weekend.

Mumford & Sons sounds like music to be played in the background by middle-managers at dinner parties, shortly before Travis and after Coldplay (but only the early stuff because you know, that's the best right? At a push there might be some Kaiser Chiefs too). I have nothing against people liking dull music but it is a shame that with the reputation Lewes has we couldn't have something with a bit more bite. I will be getting out of Lewes.

What happened to "We Wunt Be Druv"??
Everyone moaning about this weekend on this forum needs to just relax for a moment, as far as I can see it seems like this weekend will be nothing but good for this sometimes rather stale town. I think you should hang around, who knows, you might even have some fun.

It's the sort of music that turns my stomach (highly derivative pap) and I'll not want to be around the crowds in Lewes, so will stay in the country that weekend... however, for those that like it and for Lewes it ought to be a top weekend. Good on our lovely LDC Leader Councillor James Page for going out on a limb arranging it!
