To the people who don't like the political threads, or the silly threads or whatever, why don't you just avoid them?
It seems to be extremely unreasonable to stop other people talking about things just because you don't like them.
Why don't you just start your own threads? If they are interesting enough they will carry on.
It seems to me to be a very direct and fair system, if a bit Darwinian. Threads that people are interested in carry on - others die.
Why try to force people to talk about what you want them to?
Do what you would do in real life - walk away from people you don't like.

There's a lot I could tell you about Mr so-called Nice but he's not worth the trouble.

Do what you would do in real life - or do you bore the pants of those as well.

No one is forcing you to read them. That's the whole point.

It looks like the people who were interested in political debate have been frightened away by Joist et al.
What a shame - I wonder what they do for an encore? Stop people running book groups perhaps? Or at least reading books that they don't like. Or perhaps they turn up at the local pub and monitor people's conversations? How about turning up at the Headstrong club and telling them to discuss the parking scheme?
Ever heard of freedom of speech?
Where are the interesting threads started by you people? I'll be waiting for them with anticipation.

This thread is a little bemusing. I have tried to ignore it because to me it makes no sense. I like this forum, which is why I have a look at it most days. If the subject of a thread is something I know nothing or little about, or it is of no interest to me then I do not post. If it is of interest then I do generally post. Pretty simple really, don't post if the subject is of no interest to you. And certainly do not complain about other people's post just because you don't like the subject, whatever it may be.

Exactly. Thanks jr. First genuine response.
Now all we need is to get an answer from one of the people who has been trying to shut down previous debates.
I'm still curious as to why.
