Why the thumbs down? After securing a better deal with the EU, Jeremy will rebuild our badly broken country. Schools will be properly funded, houses will be built, jobs will be created, the NHS will be saved just to name a few - what isnít there to like?

Well, he's a Brexiter through and through but will not publicly support Brexit and he campaigned for Remain (in a half-hearted way). Also a lot of the press tell us that he's a 'Communist' (I know he's not) and for some reason that terrifies people - including my 90 year old father.
I sincerely admire his aims were he to be in government though and it still leaves me in a quandary as to which party to vote for if a General Election were to be held anytime soon.

Goodness me, even more thumbs down. Clearly, the views of Lewes forum users are different from those of the majority of the UK.

Corbyn is a silly old duffer who would bankrupt the country within weeks. I assume Sleeveless isn't old enough to remember the last left wing Labour government.

Sleeveless, I've seen nothing to suggest that the majority of voters support Corbyn. I read that 80%of labour supporters oppose him on Brexit which is the biggest issue facing the electorate. In Lewes, the choice will be simple between a Brexit supporting Tory and a remain lib dem. Corbyn does not have the support of the majority of labour voters. He was an appalling choice of leader who succeeded through far left entryism.

Far left entryism? That's a new one, perhaps Pervy Pete can help me out with this.

I certainly don't think we are at the top Table within the EU, just one of 28 !! So that has flawed your argument vit.

@tom pain. Why do you need far left entryism explained by Pete? It is well known that many people who regard themselves as far left joined the Labour party when the rules on voting for a leader were changed. It was similar to militant tendency in the 1980s but this time they succeeded as milliband had changed the rules on how the leader was elected. Please ask if you would like more details.

I'd love to know when there was a 'left wing Labour government' - I can remember the governments of Wilson, Callaghan, Blair, Brown, not one of which was left wing.

So the majority of Labour supporters are 'great country' nationalists AND want the UK to be part of the EU neo-liberal project? Some confusion there I think.

The manner in which Brexit has been handled makes a mockery of voting, as it is evident your vote counts for nothing. Modern politicians are made up between a mixture of barrow boys and spivs.
