as you enter next to cliffe bridge by the side of riverside there is a small sign saying pedestrian area and a cycle route sign with a one way sign, however the road shows arrows in both directions and the only one way sign appears on brewery wall and bills which seems to imply that you can turn left out of argos carpark as I am many others do. But accident waiting to happen I think not as this is clearly marked including the road surface with cobbles as a pedestrian area ie outside of normal road speeds which would normally be below 20mph

I know I'm naive, but when they said pedestrianisation I thought they meant pedestrianisation. Personally I was against it, but a little consistency woud be in order.

As owners of Gm Taxis, I will be looking into we can turn left out of the turning besides the Argos building.
I would like to confirm, that indeed we are not above the law,and if it is found that making this left turn is breaking the law we shall inform our drivers that they must not do so .
Many thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It makes no sense that there should be two-way traffic over the bridge considering a) it was one-way before and b) it's only wide enough for one vehicle. The problem seems to be the "no motorised vehicles" sign replacing the standard "no entry" sign down by FF&Fs shop - although cycles are allowed, most motorists don't seem to realise the meaning of this sign, i.e. no entry to them. But having witnessed many police cars driving down Cliffe the wrong way, what can you do..? I would like to know who all the cars belong to parked in the "loading bays" from about 6pm every evening; lazy Bill's staff is all I can assume
