Foreign Slugs

I was wondering if any fellow Lewesians had been involved in any encounters with the "Sleepless Spanish Slugs" that we're hearing so much about these days.
I for one am very worried about the impact that these foreign slugs will have on our gardens, specifically, what our hard working native slugs will have to eat given the influx of overseas gastropods. Are we able to cater for such an increase in numbers?
Rumour is that the slug came from an overseas lettuce import - I can only assume that this was done by some sub-par supermarket (i.e. Tesco or Iceland)... I couldn't fathom the idea of Waitrose or M&S being responsible for such a (frankly terrorist) act.
Would anyone else care to share their thoughts? Could we perhaps organise a protest to discourage the Spaniards? I'm open to suggestions and am keen to get involved in this cause.
Cheers,
Pete

Remember all our pasty narrow minded Daily Mail reading retired slugs in Spain. Don't want them back do we?
