Anyone know what the pinky purple flowers (weeds?) are called that seem to be abundant at the moment, particularly at the top end of town - lots growing on the wall next to the white lion sign?

It's Red Valerian. The latin name is Centranthus ruber. A great plant for attracting hummingbird hawkmoths but it hasn't got the local name of "wall breaker" for nothing. Its thick fleshy roots are capable of doing great damage once they get into the cracks or soft mortar in a flint wall. (It also comes in white btw).
