I hear a flood alert has been issued for north of town. If Cliffe's flooded I'm sure CBS can be assured of the help of the other societies. After all, they would do the same for them. Wouldn't they?

I'm sure they would. Otherwise it might appear they take themselves too seriously which can't be the case...

anyone know what the difference in time is between Lewes/Barcombe tide following on from Newhaven high tide - given tide tables based on Newhaven?
+90mins/2hours suggested?

As a frequent fisherman of the Ouse, the tide times difference is about 2 hours Lopster.
River was pretty high earlier. There's a 7.0m tide height for tonight and again tomorrow midday so let's hope the rain isn't too heavy tonight.

As a frequent angler, canoeist and one with a riverbank garden I can assure you it's one hour. In the summer it's two hours ahead of the listed time because all times are GMT.

Just looked on Environment Agency website and the flood warning is no longer in force.

In my experience, at Lewes the tide starts coming in about an hour before Newhaven high tide and starts going out up to 2 and a half hours later. Much depends on height of the tide and rainfall.

Yup, generally 2 hours at Barcombe Mills, although this does vary with height of tide.
