Hi everyone
I've heard Lewes firework night is worth visiting.. Would anyone be able to tell me how much it costs and what day it's on please? I'll be travelling from Clapham. My youngest son (8) doesn't like loud bangs so am wondering if I should bring him or not?
Thanks

Definitely pass Laura (if you're serious), the main parade is 4 or 5 spectators deep, the parades around the estates are more suitable (or the bonfire) but it's not something you can bring an 8 year old too. Long trip in, worse trip out, trains not running properly. Good luck if you try!

Your son will be fine. Hardly any bangs at all.
It always happens on the same date. This year it's the first Sunday in December.
tickets are usually £50 per person

Best advice is head over to Battersea, then you can take advantage of the helicopter shuttle to Swanborough Farm with complimentary limo to central Lewes. Otherwise there is plenty of free parking for your Range Rover in Kingston where the locals encourage out of towners park in their front gardens for the night.

Kingston is where I parked the first time I came down for Lewes Bonfire. I was shouted at by four people when I returned to pick up our cars!! I paid to park there!! We then moved to Lewes and love watching the parades but are so happy walking home after. Nobody has invited us to join yet though.

Sorry, but 'Jennifer' wouldn't use double exclamation marks. She's an arrogant, smug DFL, but not illiterate (or a div).

The parade is in Brighton. Starts at around 10pm bring your own lantern. I really look forward to December 19th every year. The parades, the energy saving lanterns and all the merry people in their pristine white trousers (how do they keep them so clean?)

There's only one 'Jennifer' on this forum who writes clever, almost believable parodies of smug, wealthy Londoners.

Looks like they're not taking your request seriously on this forum. This year Southern Rail is striking on Bonfire night, so I couldn't recommend you visit. This year it's for locals only.
