Rio de Janiio, Venice and Mardigras are a few of the festivals that I have been to over the last few years. Absolutely sensational experiences. Would like anyone else to share their travelling experiences and as a result will give others an insight into culture beyond that of Lewes.

Las Fallas, Valencia. Send some of the anti rookie brigade down there and they would soon realise what a fuss about nothing they are making over a few bangs in the street on Bonfire Night!

I've been to some of the Somerset carnivals and I'd sooner watch paint dry.
The event I've always wanted to see is the Palio in Sienna. That looks awesome.

Annette. I would defiantly recommend the palio! I have been countless times. Always in August though. Normally rent a Villa an hours drive from Sienna. Arrive a week before and enjoy the build up. The city completely transforms, especially the square. They run the trail horse races where the fasted horses are sized up. The atmosphere at the draw when the contranders are drawn their horse is electric. The Aquila Contrader is my favourite as it represents what I thinks is the nicest part of the city.

Las fallas in valencia gets my vote! Indeed the people on here who are anti bonfire would have their worst nightmare out there with bangs going off 24/7 for a week.
