I happened to park my car in the car park by the fairy ring and was shocked to see how the fairy ring is so neglected. I remember it being well tended with rose bushes and flowers, now it's a disgrace. Who is responsible for the upkeep.

Apologies in advance for being so naive.

It's the area between Castle Precincts car park and the steps that lead down to Castle Ditch Lane.
When Pelham House was council offices, and the car park a staff car park, the gardener who looked after Pelham House garden and the County Hall site also looked after the Castle Precincts car park. He used to maintain thre borders and fairy ring too.
Now, it doesn't seem to be anyone's responsibility.

Guido, are you sure you are not Paul Daniels. Mind you I liked your reply, not a lot. Ha ha. And as for you Lemming, you are just jumping on the bandwagon. By the way ACT thanks for the info.

My apologies if I mislead anyone by calling the magic circle a fairy ring, but I honestly believe we used to call it that. Does anyone else know it as the fairy ring. Oh what a gay day.

As a child we always referred to that area as the fairy ring. The roundabout where Brian the snail is outside of Cuifaill tunnel was nicknamed The Magic Roundabout. But I can't recall the Magic Circle. Oh well live and learn.

Sounds like a good secluded spot for a teenager to give his girlfriend a bunk-up.
