Fernie is a town in British Columbia, Canada. I can't tell you loads about the skiing/boarding this year, though you will find it attracts far fewer Aussies, Brits, and Japanese than Banff or Whistler does. The town itself is a hippy-ish friendly place. A place where Canadians prefer to ski when they want to avoid the craziness of the Banff and Whistler slopes. My best friend has a season pass to Fernie, and says there is plenty of snow on the slopes and in the town - though that was at Christmas time. Beware that road closures due to avalanches often affect winter road travel. Ask before you book anything you need to drive to.

OK thanks for that info. Next time I pop into Fernie I'll remember about the possible road closures. Toodle pip!
