It seems a pertinent subject as the Depot was showing the Battle of the Sexes over the weekend. Can someone lay out a sound and well structured argument why women should be paid the same prize money in tennis tournaments to men, regardless of how many tickets they sell or viewers they attract? If you do believe they should be paid 'equally', do you also believe that wheelchair tennis players and juniors should be paid the same too?

The men generally play longer games. In football at least they generally attract larger crowds, though I don't know if that applies to tennis (where to me at least as a spectator best of three sets would be more attractive than best of five).
Maybe all sports should be open to either/any gender? Then equal pay for equal performance would follow naturally and we would be spared the embarrassing public debates about which gender some sportspeople should be considered as.

A woman should be a cook in the kitchen a mother in the nursery and a whore in the bedroom. That is all.

Well they 5 set matches as opposed to 3...and they do garner larger viewing figures for their matches, meaning the televised coverage can attract higher sums from advertisers, making them more profitable for the tournament organisers.
