Anybody know what the empty shop is going to be in Fisher Street where Carnival was. I think I saw 'Big Daddies' coming soon as I cycled past and thought maybe a burger place but could be totally wrong .

You'd have managed to pull over and go back if you'd dropped your keys, wouldn't you?

When I first moved to Lewes in the 80's it was a flame grilled burger takeaway in that shop.
Anyone remember the name?

@Egon . It was called the Beefeater and was owned by the lovely Groves family that used to have the fish and chip shop in south street . I worked there in the evenings, it was always really busy as I recall , because It was like Grubbs/Uncle Sam's and the only place to get burgers and milkshakes etc .

Lou: Yes that was it. I remember the Groves, think they had two sons. Really friendly people wonder what happened to them. The burgers were grilled on a conveyor belt grill system served with salad garnish and were delicious. Gourmet Burgers in the 80's. Happy days!
