Keith Glazier, Tory leader of ESCC, is in private eye for receiving a 37% increase to his leaders allowance, taking it to £46,740 last year. It is also noted that he claimed £3,327 for using his own car on council business. Council chief exec, Becky Shaw received nearly £230,000 in salary, pension contributions and expenses. Glazier is pushing through £112m in cuts to the council budget leading to 200 fewer jobs while council tax goes up by 6%.

And yet people keep voting the Tories in. Particularly amusing is that they're planning on shutting a few old folks drop in centres in Eastbourne, thereby directly upsetting their core vote. I guess they bank on the power of the Daily Mail to persuade the old dears that Corbyn is a communist and will send them all to the gulags being more of a vote winner than actively being shafted by local Tories is a vote loser. It does seem that old people in Sussex are particularly gulible when it comes to politics so they might have a point.

Where do they think the moneys going to come from? The Banks are doing the same too. Government and Bankers salaries go up whilst the majority stays the same and we're expected to pay?!

Maybe. Keith voted for the raise for himself. Wish I got to vote for my pay rises

I'm sure a lot of councillors from all parties can be relied upon to not put their own interests first. Those who do appear to be self serving from whatever party must be identified and not voted for. Adopting the view that they are all as bad as each other let's them win.

It’s disgusting that he gives himself a 37% increase at the same time as closing homes and shutting libraries - typical Tory lining his own pockets
