Driverless Cars

So, the A27 was closed to traffic last night from Falmer to Ashcombe roundabout, as contractors were felling trees. Shame they only give us oxygen and not wi-fi !!

The old mayor is referring to the felling of trees to enable 5G transmission which will be necessary for driverless cars to operate. This is the real extinction technology we should be rebelling against. The more trees we have the less CO2 there is in the atmosphere. If you think that's important shouldn't you be alarmed at the 5G rollout contributing to climate catastrophe? The same people who are pushing the CO2 agenda are pushing something that causes it. Methinks there's a disconnect here..

Is there any proof that trees are being felled for 5g? They say it is because they are dangerous. We seem to be a long way from driverless cars. Would they really chop down trees now? The issue of whether trees are good at removing co2 from the atmosphere does not seem straight forward either. They do die and release the stored carbon back into the environment. I love trees and that tree lined bit of the A27 as much as anyone but I need to see a lot more information about the dangers and needs of 5g before condemning it.

Please be aware of the tree works that are planned this on the on the Offham Road north west of Lewes, removing trees that have become dangerous due to ash dieback. I'm attaching a link to LDC and a map with further details of times that has been posted on Facebook, though I can't find it on LDC's site.
It's very sad that so many trees will have to go, and the appearance of this road will be greatly changed, but given the steep slopes above the road and the height of the trees, they will have to be cleared quite a long way back to make the road safe.

I think it is unlikely that the IMF will be involved at all in our deficit Tom. The government have offered to give lots of money... more
